Top Passport Questions

From 30 March 2017 Irish Citizens who are over 18, and have held an Irish Passport can now apply for their Passport Book and/or Passport Card online through Passport Online Application Service.


From 29 March 2016, a Public Services Card (PSC) is required for first-time adult applicants resident in Ireland; as well as applicants whose last passport was issued prior to 1 January 2005 and has since been reported as lost, stolen or damaged. An applicant whose most recent passport has expired by more than 5 years is required to produce the same documentary proofs as a first-time passport applicant.

The Passport Office in Dublin has now moved to Knockmaun House, 42-47, Lower Mount Street, Dublin 2, D02 TN83.

The Passport Office will continue to prioritise cases of genuine emergency.

The Passport Express service operated by An Post continues to function as normal and applicants are encouraged to use this service as far as possible.
